Cheese cake?!!!

Nak tau buat cheese cake ke? ala… bukannya susah hehhehe (sebenarnya susah la jugak). Tapi usaha itu tangga kejayaan … Nak referrence ke? Sebenarnya cheese cake hari tu adalah dari resepi yang diubahsuai dari buku masakan “Mahir Memasak: Langkah Demi Langkah.” Buku Koleksi Rasa 07. Terbitan Karangkraf. Harga dia RM15.90

Kek Keju

(Biasanya saya buat separuh adunan sahaja… so semua bahan kena halfkan)

Bahan Bahan:

500 gm krim keju (biasanya guna Philadelphia)

6 biji kuning telur

6 biji putih telur

250 ml susu segar (hehe … yang UHT tu pun boleh lah)

150 gm gula kastor (gula ni biasanya di “up”kan ke 200 gm.. sebab nanti tak cukup manis}

125 gm mentega

70 gm tepung gandum

35 gm tepung jagung

1 sudu makan serbuk coklat

1/2 sudu teh garam

Cara memasaknya:

1. Satukan krim keju, susu dan mentega di dalam mangkuk tahan panas. letakkan di atas air mendidih perlahan dan kacau rata hingga adunan menjadi halus dan licin. ketepikan mangkuk dan biar adunan sejuk.(Biasanya saya amik periuk besar atau kuali ke, didhkan air dia, then masukkan mangkuk tahan panas (saya guna yang stainless steel tu bukan yang kaca, so dia terapung la dalam air mendidih tu) yang berisi bahan2 tadi tu. Biasanya saya akan angkat mangkuk tu sekali skala dan kacau, lepas tu letak balik dalam boiling water tu sebab nak kacau atas dapur tu panas wehh …buat cam tu beberapa kali sampai la nampak tekstur dia dah smooth sikit)

2. Lepas tu kena sediakan pula putih telur. Biasanya sebelum prepare mende2 ni, saya akan masukkan bekas adunan (saya guna kole buat teh tarik tu) dgn mata hand mixer tu dalam freezer, nak bagi sejuk. Bila dah agak2 sejuk, masukkan telur putih dan garam kedalam bekas adunan dan putar dgn hand mixer tu. Putar kasi semua telur putih tu kena putar dgn skata… nanti akan nampak buih dia semakin naik dan jadi putih. Bila dah rasa cukup kental krim dia tu (kadang2 saya cuba sengetkan sikit bekas tu, sbb org kata kalau kita terbalikkan dia dan tak jatuh, maksudnya menjadik la krim putar tu.. kental la tuh …huhu), masukkan gula sedikit demi sedikit sambil putar.

3. Kemudian, bila adunan krim keju tu dah tak panas (suhu bilik), masukkan telur kuning dan tepung, kacau hingga sebati. Then, masukkan krim putar kita ke dalam adunan tu dan kacau hingga sebati krim keju tu (tak guna hand mixer pun tak pa).

4. Kemudian, ambil satu sudu adunan tu keluar dan campurkan dengan serbuk coklat sedikit (kalau banyak dia jadi berat, akan ada yang turun ke bawah nanti).

5. Masukkan baki adunan ke dalan loyang pembakar. Loyang pembakar ni saya letak kertas lapik sebab nanti dia melekat dan lembut .. susah nak keluarkannya. Lepas dah masuk dulang, ambil sudi kecil dan buat garisan di atas adunan tu guna adunan coklat tadi.. buat beberapa line melintang dan menegak dah cukup, then ambil pisau, gariskan atas adunan tu melintang dgn garisan coklat tadi… tapi trick nya ialah kena selang2 garisan pisau tu, satu ke bawah, 2nd kena ke atas, then bawah… dan seterusnya… baru napak ada alunannya..

6. Dah siap adunan tu, sediakan satu bekas yang boleh muat loyang adunan tadi, masukan loyang adunan ke dalam bekas tu dan isi air ke dalam bekas tu (macam waterbath) dan masukkan ke dalam oven, bakar sampai masak suhu lebih kurang 180ºC kot.. nanti kena check balik..

Dah siap… macam tu la nak buatnya.. sebenarnya tak susah.. cuma kita kena tau apa yang nak digunakan dan sesuai kat dapur kita sahaja … improvise ..

24hb September 2011 – Pi Putrajaya sebab hari tu adik bertunang.

25hb September tu, before balik ke Pennag, bagitau la Mama nak pi jalan-jalan kat tasik depan rumah abang tu. Walaupun Mama dah pernah jalan-jalan kat situ, dia nak ikut juga, konon-konon nak tolong tunjuk jalan. So, rupa-rupanya selain tasik kecil, ada Tasik Putrajaya kat situ.. ooo.. baru la tau.. rugi la tak tau awal-awal.. dah berpa kali kami dtg situ.. tak tau la plak.. kalau tak dah pi naik bot jalan2 waktu malam ke, naik kenu ke .. macam2 la.. Si, ini lah dia gambar-gambar yang sempat di ambil di sekitar Tasik tu

Cherrie tomato

Guess what? Our new project going on is ….. growing cherrie tomatos… as usual.. bought the seeds from supermarket, then sow them in pots. In about 2 -3 weeks, they germinate. And look at them now, aren’t they lovely … my husband is thingking of growing it hanging upside down … well… we’ll see the result in next 2 or 3 months …

Herbs and Flowers

August 2009 (last year), we moved from Penang island to Permatang Pauh…. we were quite happy with our new house because it is on the ground, not in some kind of tall building like flats or apartment. I think the best thing is because it has a small lawn infront of the house. So, the first thing we’ve tried to grow is Lemongrass, ginger and tumeric because they are easy to grow.

We are really happy with the outcomes… so we’ve tried to plant vege and flowers… I bought some orchids from my hometown and brought them to penang…. they bloom once only.. now we are trying to figure out how to make them bloom and healthier … other than orchids, we’re also trying to grow marigolds, sunflower, delphinium and etc

Eggplants … a.k.a … terung

Yup… we have eggplants in our garden. Just like the other, we bought the seeds from supermarket and sow them on pot. After about 3 – 4 weeks (purposely let them grow a little longer than it is suppose to be), we transferred it onto our garden (24th June 2009). This time we plant 3 on ground and 2 in pots … in case we move out from our house, so it will be easier …. Not sure how long it is already … they grow healthily but no flowers yet … waiting and waiting …

31th July 2009 - I think it’s already 2 months now, and the plants grow bugger and bigger. Today I can see one bud of flower on one of the tree… wah… hopefully before raya I can harvest them…

Melon.. watermelon…..

Finally, we’ve managed to grow melon and watermelon in our little garden…. We bought the seeds from supermarket and try to germinate them in the pot ….. after 3 to 4 weeks .. or after the third and fourth leaves grown.. transferred it onto our garden … we plant 5 watermelons and all managed to survived, but for melons only 2 out of 5 survived …well, what to do .. life goes on..

After few weeks, we can see the plants began to grow more and more each day…. and finally bright yellow flowers began to appear …and another few weeks later … we can see tiny watermelon appeared …

Now, we have about 4 little watermelons. Can’t wait to harvest them all… Ohh.. forgot about the other melon. Yup, they manage to survived, growing healthily and blooming flowers just like our watemelon, but their growth rate are slower than that of watermelon. They are also smaller in size compared to the watermelon… maybe next time i’ll upload their photos.

31st July 2009 – it has been more than 2 months since we plant watermelon… now, look at the size of the fruit… ahh.. isn’t she a beaut ….

ohh.. and about my melon… they are in bloom … but no fruits yet

Lately,my hubby and i developed an interest in gardening. At the moment, we have few plants in our mini-garden. Here is the list of what we have in our little garden…

-Fruits: watermelon, melon and mango

- Vegetable: tomato, kangkung and terung

- Herbs: chillies, tumeric, ginger, lemongrass, Pengaga, Pandan, Dill (in progress), Rosemary (in progress)

- Flowers: French Marigold, Orchids, Seroja, Ferns, Sun Flower (in progress), American Marigold (in progress) Honeycomb Marigold (in progress) and etc ( i don’t really know their names).

Tometo Tomato

I’ve planted tomato in my mini organic farm (just a humble 2X3 meter). I notice this one (picture above) first (it tooks around 5 month from seed) to this but unfortunately after a few days it falls to the fruit fly. I notice a part of the tomato turn brownish and a few days later it begin to swell. Cutting it up reveal a maggot like creature that likes to jump around when place ona flat surface.

Being an organic farm, the only available solution is to wrap the fruit when it starting to show. I wrap it with old newspaper makeshift into a bag.

At last after 1 more month of damage control, I manage to have fresh tomato as breakfast today. Its true what they say that the tomato taste better when it is grown organically and if pick after ripen!
